Telephone Service
Local Business Services and Rates
There are many factors that affect the cost of business
rates: the number of phone lines, the number of phones, and the
type of service requested. To establish a new business phone service,
there are certain one-time-only charges (Non-Recurring Rates),
that pay for installation (if any) and for setting up the account.
These charges cover the minimum costs for new service.
There are also monthly charges (Recurring Rates),
which are part of the monthly phone bill for the business. Many
of these charges are for access to the network, federally mandated
charges and optional Custom Calling features.
Long-distance charges and special numbers (for example,
800 numbers) are not included in Business Recurring Rates. Contact
your long-distance service provider for information about Calling
Plans and rates.
